Philadelphia Storm hosted one of the greatest setters in US Olympic history and the camp was all it was expected to be by the coaches, players and parents that participated. Lloy entered the gym and immediately took command of the courts and the attention of the players that were there to learn from him. Explaining how he got to where he was in life and how he developed his approach to the game was one of the first things he talked to the players about. His message was strong and important, greatness is not easy and if a player wanted to achieve that greatness it takes hard work and desire to even give yourself the opportunity to achieve that next level.
Fast paced training and game play for the girls had them wanting more and more throughout the day. After the 4 1/2 hour session the players and parents involved realized just why it was such a great opportunity to learn from such a great player and role model of the game.
Sunday was much of the same, but this time was something even more special...Just the setters who wanted to learn more! The time went by so fast because the girls were working hard and having a great time.
At the end of both sessions Lloy took the time to take pictures with everyone and even let them wear his Gold Medal for a few pictures.
Philly Storm would like to take a moment to thank Lloy for taking the time out of his busy schedule to come work with our program. We would also like to thank the players and parents who took part in the weekend! Without you these camps are not possible.
Together, the directors of Philly Storm and Lloy, have laid the ground work already for The Return Of The Pineapple in 2018! Keep your eyes pealed for news on the date for the next clinics!
