We Are Excited To Welcome Drew Hargrave

Storm is very excited to add Drew to our coaching team this season. She brings a great deal of knowledge and coaching experience to the program and is looking forward to meeting the players. Drew Hargrave returns for her second season at the helm of the Haverford Volleyball program.

In her first season with Haverford, Hargrave guided the Fords to a Centennial Conference semifinal berth and a fifth consecutive season with at least 15 wins. Hargrave also oversaw the development of All-Centennial Conference first team honorees.

Hargrave arrived at Haverford College after spending three seasons as an assistant coach at Smith College.

During three years at Smith College in Northampton, Mass., Hargrave was responsible for all aspects of the volleyball program, including on-court instruction, scouting, and recruiting. While at Smith, Hargrave earned her Masters of Science in exercise and sports studies. During her time as an assistant coach, Hargrave helped the Pioneers to an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England tournament berth, a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) team sportsmanship award, and coached five NEWMAC Academic All-Conference selections.

Hargrave completed a decorated four-year career at Washington University in St. Louis. During Hargrave’s freshman season (2009), the Bears won the NCAA Division III National Championship. The standout outside hitter and team captain went on to earn three-straight American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America selections. She also received the University’s A. Gwendolyn Drew award, presented to the most distinguished female scholar-athlete upon her graduation from Washington University in 2013.

A USA Volleyball certified referee, Hargrave has also served as the head coach of the Pioneer Valley volleyball club during the spring of 2015 after spending one year as an assistant coach. She also served as an assistant coach at Team Momentum in St. Louis during the 2013 spring season.
